Course Descriptions:

Gracious Leadership I: (15 hours) Using The Wolf Shall Dwell with the Lamb as the principle text, participants will engage in thoughtful consideration, conversation, and self-reflection on the subjects of power and powerlessness as they relate to ministry in diverse environments.  Participants will experience and learn gracious leadership skills and be provided tools for building inclusive multicultural communities.

Gracious Leadership II:  (15 hours) Using The Bush Was Blazing But Not Consumed as the principle text, participants will actively engage in honest conversation about the opportunities and challenges of multicultural communities and learn concrete ways to empower local communities and individuals to move toward greater intercultural competency.

Community Transformation I: (15 hours) Using Inclusion - Making Room for Grace as the primary text, participants will develop a framework for becoming active individuals, congregations, and denominations that are consciously inclusive and are able to create opportunities for honest discussion of topics relating to change and the inclusion of those who are “different.”

Community Trasformation II: (15 hours) Using Sacred Acts, Holy Change as the primary text, participants will learn to facilitate a "Process for Planned Change" that can enable churches and ministries to move toward faithful and constructive change.

Intercultural Competency: (6 hours) Using the Intercultural Developmental Inventory (IDI) as a tool for reflection, participants will learn about their own developmental stage of intercultural sensitivity and their implication for ministry.  With theological reflection, participants will create their developmental plan to further their movement toward greater intercultural competency in their personal lives, work, and ministries.

Holy Currencies Orientation: (4 hours) This is an overview of Holy Currencies—a holistic model for stewardship and congregational vitality, moving beyond “time, talent, and treasure” to create missional and sustainable ministries. Participants will experience some of the dialogue processes that will enable them to understand and utilize five other kinds of currencies besides money that are essential for creating sustainable and missional ministries.  Currencies of:  Time/Place, Gracious Leadership, Relationship, Truth, Wellness, and Money.

Missional Ministries in the Grace Margin: (12 hours) If the congregation members have not done much reflection about what it means and how to become a missional church, this six-session dialogue program will enable church members to move toward missional thinking:  from fear to grace, from holding on to power to sharing blessings, and from maintenance to finding fresh-expressions (ministries to reach the unchurched). This program can be employed to prepare a congregation to engage in the full Holy Currencies curriculum.

Holy Currencies: (32 hours)  This is an in-depth training using Holy Currencies- Six Blessings for Sustainable and Missional Ministries as the principle text.  A team of leaders from a local church or ministry will learn to assess and develop all six currencies, moving toward creating new visions of missional and sustainable ministries. The team through this course will engage the church members and the neighborhood community to collect data, share and speak the truth, and access their wellness. The end result is an achievable, realistic and measurable action plan that the team can implement in order to launch and sustain at least one new missional ministry.

Catalyst Training: (20 hours) This is an intensive training for those who want to become KI Catalysts. Once trained, catalysts are eligible to submit an application to form a local learning community and facilitate one or more of the KI courses.
