WEDNESDAY will be a day of full worship. We’ll have a liturgy we’ve prepared with high levels of attendee participation, where the faculty will be modeling leadership to involve others punctuated by various “What did you notice?” conversations. In this way, we will be looking together at the experience of participating in the liturgy, and the practices of leadership.
THURSDAY we will work on creating the structure of the liturgies, so that participants will understand how to move from experiencing the liturgies to creating them. Our focus will be on teaching, mentoring, and forming teams. This hands-on “how to” helps people experience a shift toward the kind of authority we want to give everyone— in their leadership roles back home—of including visitors in a participatory liturgy, as well as modeling the kind of authority appropriate to a leader/planner. At the end of Thursday, we will look at each piece that has been created.
FRIDAY we will be forming an organic team (and cluster of teams) of leaders and participants to design and make a second liturgy where the participants’ contributions actually shape what happens.
HOUSING: Limited housing is available at $75 per night at the Retreat Center at the Cathedral Center of St. Paul on a first-come, first-served basis. We can recommend local motels for other accommodation options!
