Kaleidoscope Northwest Institute
August 13–17, 2012
Rainbow Lodge Retreat Center, North Bend, Washington
We envision a unique KI training event. We will offer other “KI goodies” in addition to the Holy Currencies course(we will post updates to the course offerings as they become available):
We are now issuing a call to all KI folks to consider coming to this event in August for the following reasons:
- We will be holding this event at the Rainbow Lodge Retreat Center (46820 SE Mount Si Road, North Bend, WA 98045), 45 minutes east of Seattle. It is a beautiful spot to cool off in the middle of summer. Check out their website: http:// rainbowlodge.org
- If you are already a KI facilitator/associate, or considering becoming one, doing the IDI is essential to your personal development as you work toward proficiency in using KI material.
- You get to meet the wonderful KI family in the Northwest. They have worked hard to become an ecumenical team that can deliver local resources to their churches in the different denominations— specifically the Lutherans, United Methodists and American Baptists. We can learn a lot from their experiences.
- The more people come, the less it will cost per person.

Holy Currencies: Emergent Conversations on Money and Sustainable Ministry
This workshop will examine how money as a currency of exchange has become the principal valuing system of our life, work and ministry. We will name money as a principality and power that seeks to be god and steer us away from the God of truth and grace. In order to recall money to its original calling, to serve and support human community interchange, we will engage participants in dialogue about other kinds of currencies that support the kingdom of God—for example, the currency of relationship, the currency of truth, the currency of grace, etc. How do the other currencies connect with money leading to sustainable ministries? We will take our clues from the Bible and from the revolutionizing world of “freeconomic” and “freemium” financing sparked by the innovation of the Internet and the World Wide Web.
Prerequisite: Course I or the equivalent
