Holy Currencies

The Kaleidoscope Institute offers a wide range of opportunities for individuals
and communities to create missional and sustainable ministries.

What are Holy Currencies?

Holy Currencies is a holistic model for stewardship and congregational vitality, moving beyond “time, talent, and treasure” to create missional and sustainable ministries. This model, with its processes, enables church leaders to understand, develop, and utilize five other kinds of currencies besides money that are essential for creating sustainable and missional ministries. These currencies are: Time & Place, Gracious Leadership, Relationship, Truth, and Wellness. These currencies flow and recirculate to form a Cycle of Blessings which empower congregations to strengthen their internal relationships as well as reach out and connect with the diverse populations in their neighborhoods.

Using the Holy Currencies model KI brings a unique approach to ministry.

  • When incubating New Ministries we use the Holy Currencies model to engage church members and your community to build relationships, discern the truth and develop leadership and financial resources. A KI Associate will coach your church team throughout this process to create a fully developed ministry plan to launch the incubated ministry.

  • Stewardship365 is a curriculum that empowers local congregations to expand their vision of stewardship beyond money to include the currencies of relationship, truth, wellness, gracious leadership, time and place. Through this process, participants will create a year-around stewardship movement enabling the congregation to shift from maintenance to mission, from scarcity to abundance and from fear to grace.

  • Using the Holy Currencies Model and KI’s Process for Planned Change, we will walk with your congregation or organization to develop an achievable, measurable and realistic action plan to respond to your community’s hopes and needs.

  • A facilitated process that enables a congregation to reflect on and strengthen its work of ministry by discovering and learning from their gifts, strength, struggles and challenges; strengthening and sometimes recovering relationships and leadership network of the church; understanding the impact of their history and current ministry, and exploring opportunities for future ministry.
