Process for Planned Change

KI engages a Process for Planned Change format which can also be applied to any type of congregational transformation: declining membership, reaching a growth plateau, a congregation-wide long-range planning and renewal process, or any situation where the congregation seem "stuck."

This process begins with theological reflection, inviting God into the conversation. As people of faith our planning process is different from other secular organizations because of our faith. Indeed, each step must be accompanied by an active discernment of God’s will. When we insist on inviting God to be part of our struggling with our issues, we maintain a place of grace in which we can be honest and open to each other and to God.

We then engage a seven-step process that includes:

  1. Determining the scope of the project (parameters)

  2. Collecting Concerns

  3. Naming the issues

  4. Setting the Goals

  5. Action Planning

  6. Implementation

  7. Evaluation
