Join us for the Gracious Leadership Series with the Kaleidoscope Institute. We will gather online most Wednesdays, starting September 17th at 10am Pacific. Sessions will be an hour to 90 minutes, depending on the content.

In our time together we will explore many of the great resources from the Kaleidoscope Institute for building Gracious Environments where difference flourishes as a gift for building transformative and sustainable communities. No prior knowledge of Kaleidoscope Institute resources will be assumed at any session.

You may come for any or all sessions. Join us as it works for your schedule. Please do sign up with each individual event listed below or send us an email at kscope@kscopeinstitute.org to sign up for multiple events. We ask for a donation on a sliding scale between $5 and $50. Pay what you can to help sustain this ministry.

Iceberg Analogy of Culture

In this session, we’ll reflect on what parts of our own culture are ‘above the waterline’—the parts others may notice right away—and what remains ‘below the waterline,’ shaping our interactions in ways that may not be obvious. We’ll also consider how these visible and invisible parts of culture play out when we encounter difference and when we seek to build understanding across communities.

Cultural Makeup

When we at the Kaleidoscope Institute talk about culture, we don’t just mean race or ethnicity. We mean your whole cultural makeup—the many layers and experiences that shape how you see and move through the world.

In this session, we’ll explore these cultural components—some obvious, some less visible—and reflect on how they influence the way we connect, communicate, and build community. This will lay a foundation for deeper intercultural awareness and prepare us to use KI tools more effectively in any setting.
